Dear Parents,

SAFEGUARDING: PLEASE HELP US

After careful consideration of safeguarding issues I have decided that we must change our procedures in the morning as children come into school.

The main problem we have is that whilst from the rear of school parents and others have easy access into school, visitors via the front of school have to sign in, have identity checked and so on.

Procedures for Years 1 and 2 and for Foundation Stage will remain the same.

Individual teachers will open the doors for Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 for children from 8.40 ready for an 8.45 start.

Parents of all year groups will not normally be allowed to come into school from the rear of the building at this time. PLEASE RESPECT THIS CHANGE.

Our whole ethos is of openness and welcome and so I will remain available most mornings to welcome you and the children and be ready to speak to parents about anything.  I intend to have a member of staff available at the side door (next to the parish centre) so that messages or whatever can be taken. Mrs Holmes will be available at the front door as always. The gate at the back of school will close at 8.50 from when entry will be via the front door only.

We will remain very open to meet parents – please don’t let this change put you off as we want and need you as partners and friends. After school on Tuesday will remain as Open House and, in addition, parents will usually be able to have a quick word at the door with teachers or other staff as the children come into school. We will always remain very ready to meet with parents at mutually convenient times.

Thank you for all you do with us and for us for the good of the children.

May God bless us all.
