Dear Parents,
HAPPY NEW YEAR All of us here in school wish our children, families, governors and staff and very happy new year. May 2010 bring us many blessings and may we truly ‘Walk with Jesus’ as we see ‘God’s love in action’.
RETIREMENT OF MR LOWRIE As many of you will know our caretaker, Mr Lowrie, will be retiring very shortly after more than twenty years’ service. I am aware that many of you have donated to an ‘unofficial’ collection at the school gate for which Mr Lowrie is very grateful – I believe a watch was given. We intend to make a presentation of a gift through school in a week or two. If anyone would like to contribute please send a suitable labelled envelope into school. Please don’t contribute twice! Thank you.
We wish him a long and happy retirement. Our new caretaker is Mr Gareth Hird, who lives next to school and has daughters in school. I am sure he will be a fine successor to Mr Lowrie.
SNOW I am pleased we were able to keep open last week despite the poor weather. Staff have been tremendous and I thank them. Children and parents were heroes too. Well done and thank you.
We will always try very hard to stay open so long as we can staff the school safely.
COMING SOON! Maths workshops and getting on with Parent Liaison (PaLs) will be organised shortly. We’ll let you know.
May God bless us all and especially our dear children.
Bernard Martin – Headteacher
